As I continue with the Singin' Through the Grief Series I thought I'd share a song very dear to me.
While it may not be specifically about Heaven ~ It is one I can imagine us singing as we pass into His Presence.
This was the song playing the very moments my mom took her final breaths here on Earth.
For many days, I sat by her bedside, playing music quietly in the background while assuring her she'd fought the good fight & she could go be with her Savior.
That final morning, as 'Beautiful' started to play we knew it was minutes until she would be in the presence of her Jesus.
My dad said, "Goodbye my love,"
...a tear ran down my mom's cheek, &
... she was gone as Kari sang 'Holy, holy"'.
Beautiful timing ~ complete & unrestrained worship as a woman finished her race & crossed the line into the arms of the King she yearned to spend eternity with.
This song may not be about Heaven, but, I believe it is in line with some of the few words that will come to mind as our soul realizes where we are & Who stands before us.
I think, when I find myself in the presence of My Everything, 'Beautiful' & 'Holy' may be the only 2 words I will be able to utter as I kneel at His Feet and touch The nail-scarred Hands that saved me with a perfect love.
Scrapbooking Beautiful:
- Journal your loved ones final moments ~ while the memory may be painful, there is something that can be healing with reflecting on that time when he / she found theirself with Jesus
- Journal about the support of family & friends during those final days
- Journal what you imagine your loved one feeling & thinking as Jesus stood before them
- Journal the comfort & security you have knowing your loved one has a life in eternity
(** Please hear my heart here...I was a hospice nurse. I know that often those left behind don't have that eternal security belief for themselves or their loved one. This is one of the reasons I have a passion for pages that change eternity. Leave messages of your security, as well as encouragement for those left behind to seek His saving grace.)
Beautiful lyrics by Kari Jobe
Here, before Your altar,
I am letting go of all I've held
of every motive, every burden,
everything that's of myself.
and I just wanna wait on You my God
I just wanna dwell on who You are.
Beautiful, beautiful oh I am lost for more to say
Beautiful, beautiful oh Lord, You're beautiful to me
Oh beautiful
Here in Your presence,
I am not afraid of brokenness
to wash Your feet with humble tears
oh I would be poured out till nothing's left.
and I just wanna wait on You my God
I just wanna dwell on who You are, who You are
Beautiful, beautiful oh I am lost for more to say
Beautiful, beautiful oh Lord, You're beautiful to me
oh Lord You're beautiful, beautiful beautiful
holy holy holy You are You are
holy holy holy You are You are
holy holy holy You are You are
holy holy holy You are You are
Beautiful, beautiful oh I am lost for more to say
Beautiful, beautiful oh Lord, You're beautiful to me
and I just wanna wait on You my God
I just wanna dwell on who You are.
