A coffee table...
Your little corner of the world...
Step 1 in Finishing Faithbooking is to make
A Place
You don't need a whole room. You don't even need a whole table. You just need a little corner to make an eternal impact.
Your first assignment is to make your Place this week. Walk through your home and find a little spot that can be yours. Dust off an old table or computer desk, clear off a shelf, make a table, a desk, or get a cardboard box.
I set My Place up yesterday. I'd love to have a scrapbooking room - but, I don't - I have a table.
Eventually, I will make this cheap, easy collage or maybe even create this picture wall. But for this moment - I want to share it with you as it is - ready for step 2 - NOW.
This set-up took me just over an hour! I know you have 1 hour this week...
A little bit about what makes My Place special to me:
- The area - A corner of our game room where no one puts or does anything except pile up what they don't know what to do with (30 min)
- The table - It was already in this corner - full of stuff :) .... It is special to me because it was my grandmother's, then my mom's. Growing up, it was the table we sat around every holiday - precious memories!
- The fabric - Can you tell my favorite color? It was a scrap piece I had laying around in a box. I didn't cut it or even finish the edges...I just ironed it (20 min)
- The shawl on the back of the chair - A prayer shawl my best friend had made for me after my mom passed away. Perfect for cold legs during late night scrapping.
- The picture - The porch from the House that Built Me. The porch, with its lemonade & welcoming ferns, was my mom's favorite spot in her home. It was the location for changing eternity through life-altering conversations, Bible Studies, & salvation of souls. The porch impacted eternity the way I want my albums to impact my family.
- My cricut - Just 'cause I like looking at it. Not sure how much I will use it, so, I grabbed a dish towel, lavender of course and covered it - no fancy cricut cover needed.
1 hour and $0.00 later, I am ready for step 2 of 4 in Finishing Faithbooking.
This week, email, tweet, or call a friend who used to or has never tried scrapbooking. Challenge & encourage each other to find 1 hour. Then, set up YOUR PLACE to get ready to leave a legacy for eternity....
While you are setting up your place - I'm going to get ready for Finishing Faithbooking ~ Step 2.
