How does that look?
How does that look when He unwraps us?
Once I started praying for my God to unwrap my family's life, well, He went to work. He does that.
A long story turned blog version: My son offered a new boy a ride home from church. We found out he was living at Wal-Mart. My amazing husband couldn't leave him there. Next thing I knew he was sleeping in a tent in my back yard, then the garage, & eventually on the couch.
Oh, the stories to share.
"Ghetto meets Homeschool"
The interruptions.
The struggles ~ Unwrapped.
The victory ~ Beautifully
He came from a life of abuse, neglect, lonliness & hunger.
Into our life of love, care, friendship & comfort.
He changed our family. He changed my children. He changed me.
As I reflect over the past 6 months I am overwhelmed at how God has worked in this boy's world. I am humbled how God has worked in my heart.
About 1 week after we met Trey, a friend reminded me that the previous Saturday I had shared my prayer for God to unwrap my family's neatly packaged life. As I hung up from that conversation I heard my Jesus say, "Beautifully unwrapped, you will see".

(I will share more random details of THE story here ~ too much entertainment to squish in one post) :~)
"Beautifully Unwrapped" ~ has evolved into a new meaning for me personally as I learn to find a new normal in recovering from spinal and brain injury. In the dark perplexity of the cocoon, the caterpillar resolves its life is finished...only to evolve, beautifully unwrapped, into one of the most free & fascinating creatures in God's Creation.
